 YPT#02 - 8 Days Yukon Trek and Fly Tour
Day Itinerary
01
Your journey starts in the hotel lobby. There you are met by one of our friendly staff who will transfer you down to our floatplane base at Schwatka Lake. At the base you will meet with your pilot who will introduce you to our fleet of satellite-phone equiped floatplanes and will explain the journey you are about to take on a map. Departing Schwakta Lake we will fly south and re-trace the historic goldrush "trail of ‘98" overflying Carcross, Lake Bennett and the White Pass. After we will head east and view the spectacular Taku icefields of the Coastal Range as well as the Llewellyn Glacier on our way to historic Atlin. The flight time will be approximately one hour thirty minutes. Upon arriving in Atlin you will be met by your guide and board a house boat and cruise south down beautiful Atlin Lake to the Llewellyn Fjord. The houseboat offer all of the comforts with cabins, bathrooms, kitchen, living room and a flat top to enjoy the warm temperatures which could go up to 30 C in summer. We will overnight in the cabins of the house boat.

We spend the whole day in the pristine mountain region of the Llewellyn Glacier, which offers wonderful hiking, photography and wildlife observing. In the afternoon we will leave the Llewellyn Fjord and head north for one of the many beautiful islands in Atlin Lake. We will pass by spectacular Cathedral Mountain before stopping for the night. Tonight your guide will prepare a gourmet dinner over an open fire and afterwards fill your evening with stories from the north.

In the morning we drive back to Atlin where the floatplane will be waiting. Taking off from Atlin we are heading to the west. Through Graham inlet we join Taku Arm of Tagish Lake. The flight leads over beautiflul lakes of different colors. After a flight time of 45 Minutes we land at the Tagish Wilderness Lodge. Beat and Jacqueline, the owners of the lodge, will welcome you warmly with a hearty lunch and introduce you to the lodge and the surrounding area. The Lodge offers wilderness comfort in log cabins and fine cuisine. An ideal location to relax and enjoy the beauty of the wilderness.

After breakfast at the lodge, there are many different activities to choose from. You can go boating, fishing, hiking or just stay at the lodge and relax. In the evening from the lodge’s deck, you can enjoy the long hours of day light and recall the days adventures.

After breakfast the floatplane will land at the doorstep of the Tagish Wilderness Lodge. We will overfly the lodge one last time before heading east for the Teslin River and land at the exclusive lodge, "Inn on the River". Approximately a thirty minute flight. For the next two days the lodge will be your comfortable home in the middle of the wilderness. Fine cuisine and a good selection of beverages will delight your senses. To top it off, each room in this luxurious lodge features a private jacuzzi.

The absolutely quite "Inn on the River" offers amazing opportunities to enjoy the beauty of nature in the most comfortable way. You can choose canoe trips, boat excursions or a trip on an all terrain vehicle. The fishing is excellent with chances to catch lake trout and pike. As always relaxing at the cabin is also an option.

In the mourning the floatplane will arrive at "Inn on the River" to fly you back to Whitehose. This flight will remind you of the vast areas of pristine wilderness that the Yukon can offer. After arriving in Whitehorse we provide transportation back to your hotel where unfortunatly your Yukon adventure comes to an end with Yukon Wings.
